Edit Emoticons
Probably one of the more popular features of ikonboard are the ability to personalize emoticons for the members of your board. This area specifically allows you to edit emoticons already in use. You can change the "shortcut" text for the, change whether they are visible in the clickable table, or even correct the image name (figure a).

Add Emoticons
I see a lot of questions asking "How do I add more emoticons?" posted in the support. That's what this area does. You can see all the currently installed emoticons in the top row of the config panel, then you'll see the link saying "View All Emoticons". If you click on that link, you'll pull up a small pop up window that will show you all emoticons available in the emoticons folder of your ikonboard non-cgi directory. You'll add your "shortcut" text in the left hand column, you'll need to set yes or no for it to be inserted into the clickable smilie table (not being in the table does NOT keep it from being used - it just won't be there in the table to click on), and you'll add the image name in the right hand column (figure a). Once you've added the new ones you want in, then you'll hit apply and you're good to go.

Edit MIME Types
Most people will probably never need to deal with this feature, but for those who do, please don't mess with this area unless you know what you're doing. For those who don't know, MIME stands for Multimedia Internet Mail Extensions. These are what applications (in this program it will be the browser and the script itself) use to know what type of program is necessary to read data of a certain file type. For an example, a gif file, on your computer, might be displayed with image viewer. The process is similar on the web, in dealing with various browsers, as well. This area lists various types of tiles, their extensions, a basic description of that type of file, and associates an image to that file type (figure a). You may see some of this in action when viewing the files through the file manager in the maintain section. The vast majority of necessary files has been added here for your benefit. Should you require more information on MIME types, The MIME Information Page may be of assistance to you.

Add MIME Types
On the off chance that you may need to identify additional MIME types and list an associated image with them, this area has been provided to make your job much easier. Add in the MIME type, give it a description and select an image to go with it, then you can decide if you will or will not allow that type of file's use within your board (figure a). Please be careful with what you're doing, and if you need help, please refer to the The MIME Information Page or post a query to the support forums.
